Carnellian Coffee is located at 2428 W Colorado ave in colorado springs. We decided to give it a try while fighting the huge crowd that Territory days attracts every year.(if you havn’t been and live in Colorado Springs, you must go) Your first impression is simple enough. It’s nestled in an old brick building in the middle of busy old Colorado city. It’s simple but intriguing exterior only hints at the charm hidden inside.
Once you walk through the front door you are greeted with a sitting area decorated in colorful pillows and book shelves open to those in need of a caffein fix. There are tables with that homestyle charm many of us grew up with. The overall atmosphere makes you feel right at home. I could see myself spending hours sipping coffee and reading or editing photos here. I love the simplicity they have to offer on top of the friendly baristas that are so willing to help make a decision. Not that their menu is overwhelmed with options. Actually I found it to be just enough. They also offer vegan milk options which is a big selling point for me.
My husband ordered me an Inverso Latte. I’ve never heard of it before but I was pleasantly surprised. Its a mix of vanilla syrup, espresso, and milk. Mine was substituted with almond milk. Its a layered drink so I would recommend mixing it first since the vanilla syrup settles to the bottom followed by the milk and the espresso shots on top.It was very well rounded. not to sweet and the shots were not bitter at all instead it had a smooth nutty flavor. So simple but so good!
